Hello!! It's cold in Nagoya but I'm fine :) What's with you? Everyone who are Sugiyama Women's University students are looking forward to coming winter holidays! I'm also looking forward to coming the holidays but I'm going to work and do my homework...hahaha :>

Do you finish your exam, kaman, Annie and Micchi? (Micchi, I'm sorry...I may mistake spelling because it's not sure...so please tell me the correct spelling :( ) I hope you can pass your exam, and everyone! Christmas is a week away! Do you have a plan yet? I'm going to work and after that I have Nabe and Xmas party with my friends!! Now I'm worry about gift which I give but it is so fan, isn't it? And I'll spend new year with my family. Maybe it is opposite from America. Anyway, have a nice days!!




You know, we write the blog for homework but we'll finish this semester and the class soon. Hi every one! Since it seems like every one is interested in the topic on food, I'll make a post about a special tea I discovered. It's from a famous tea brand in America called Numi. It's white tea and has a flowery kinda scent. I love it. What's so special about it is that it starts out looking like a ball. Then when you add boiled water to it and wait 2-3 minutes, it will bloom into a flower! So pretty and the aroma of the tea is very pleasant~~~~

こんにちは!!もうそろそろクリスマス、おおみそか、そして正月がやってくるねっ♪椙山（大学）は今年は１２月２０日まで授業があって、次の日から１月１０日まで冬休みです（＾ー＾）テストは１月なのでとりあえず年末は遊びほうけ～の、バイトし～の、の予定です（’ｗ’）

今日は日本のごはんについて話します♪日本には洋食・中華（でも日本人好みの味だから本場とは違うかも…）などいっぱいあります。わたしもマクドナルド（若い人は「マック」や「マクド」って言うョ♪）のハンバーガーやシチュー、パン、ケーキが大好きですが最近は日本食も大好きです。

私が思う日本食の代表はズバリ！米料理！！一番普通に食べてるのはお茶碗に盛られた炊きたてごはんです。私のふつう、朝はパンですが昼・夜はごはんです。学校があるときのお昼はお弁当持参なのでおにぎりかお弁当箱に入っている冷えたご飯をたべます。お米にも高級品があって新潟県で取れる魚沼産のコシヒカリは最高です！普段はめったに食べませんがこのあいだ歳暮（せいぼ：年末のあいさつとして品物を贈ることです。社会人しかしません）で届いたのでリッチ気分を味わっています（\\ー\\）

冬の代表料理といったら鍋です！鍋料理の作り方は簡単にいえばダシをとって、あとは白菜やねぎなどの野菜や豆腐、肉、こんにゃくなど好きなものを入れます。味はキムチ、味噌などいっぱいありますがあたしが最近好きな味は豆乳鍋です！！ちなみに写真はキムチ鍋ですが…そんなの関係なぁ～い！（←今年日本ではやったギャグです…ぷぷぷ）

こんにちはー☆★あおいだよ！！
最近すっごく寒くなってきてすっかり家にひきこもりぎみ…↓クリスマスも近いから早く彼氏作りたいんだけど、なかなかできません........みんなは彼氏・彼女いますかぁ？？クリスマスはもう予定ある？？

ところで今回は服について♪♪んー難しい。
日本の女の子はすっごくおしゃれ！特に私たちが通っている学校は女の子だけの学校なのでみんなおしゃれさんだよ。みんなの学校はどうなのかな？
いつも朝起きると今日着ていく服について悩みます。だって毎日同じ服着ていくのは恥ずかしいし。でもなんだかんだ毎日ジーンズになっちゃうのが悩みかな。顔も毎日化粧していくんだよ！めんどくさいよね。髪の毛は今くるくる巻くのがはやってるので時々コテをつかって巻くよ。
みんなはどんな髪型してるのかな？
とにかく日本の女の子は大変です........

ファッションは好きですか？

ここ最近名古屋もとても寒くなってきました。とうとう冬がやってくるのかな？？紅葉が散ってしまうのが少し残念です…。今日はファッションについて話します♪♪

まずは日本の伝統的服装から。みんな知ってのとおり、日本には着物があります。江戸時代までは主流だったけど、洋服が知られてからあまり着られることはなく、ここ最近では正月（あまりいないケド…）、七五三、夏祭りに浴衣、成人式に女子は振袖（ふりそで）、男子は（スーツが多いけど着るなら）袴（はかま）ぐらいです。浴衣は若い人ならけっこう着ます（花火デートに着ると相手が喜ぶからです♪）。成人式は２０歳になった記念に来ます。今度は２００８年１月１４日です。対象の人は１９８７年４月２日から１９８８年４月１日に生まれた人です。aoiとkaoriも私も対象に入っているので成人式には行きます。このあいだちょうど写真を撮りにいったので載せておきます。ふふふ…♪

日本で最近はやっているものはカラータイツ（でも一番流行の色は

黒）・ブーティー・ショートジャケットです。日本的だな、と思うことは髪の毛をコテでくるくるにまく子がいます。髪の毛はこげ茶～茶色にする子が多いかな？高校までは校則で黒色にしなきゃいけない子が多かったのでその反動です（笑）椙山の女の子はオシャレな子が多いです♪みんなオシャレなのでヒールのある靴を履く子が多いです!!もちろん、私も・・・（＾ー＾）あと、suzanneに聞いてびっくりした事が、日本の女の子はブランド物をもっている事だ、ということです。椙山にはLouis Vuittonやgucci, chanelなどのかばんや財布をもっている子がたくさんいます。けっこう当たり前だと思っていたのでびっくりです。残念ながら私は貧乏なので自分で買った財布しかもっていないケド…（；、；）

Hello!!　Everyone. Today, we study about fashion!!

Do you know "Kimono"?? Kimono is a Japanese traditional clothes. This picture that who are wearing Kimono.We are wearing "Kimono" our special day!!For example, New years day, Coming of Age Day(becoming 20 years old year) , and so on. "Ki mono is a special clothes to Japanese young peoples. I am happy when wearing "Kimono".

We often wear "yukata". We wear "Yukata" when festival of summer, fireworks display. By the way, we wear "kimono" or "yukata" on our special day!!

Have you ever worn "Kimono" or "Yukata"? if you are not try wearing these.(^^)

初雪！！

今私はＴＨＡＮＫＳＧＩＶＩＮＧの休みでアンアーバーにいます。今日アンアーバーで初雪降りました！ちょっとしか降ってないのであまり積もってません。アンアーバーはイーストランシングから運転一時間です。だから今イーストランシングにも雪が降ってると思います。１１月末でやっと雪が降り始めたのでとてもわくわくしています！日本ではもう雪が降りましたか？

Thanksgiving

Hi every one! It's getting extremely cold in Michigan right now. It even snowed a little bit the other day. The color of the leaves on campus has changed completely. It's so pretty to look at when I'm walking around on campus. Is your school really pretty in fall too?

Speaking of fall,Thanksgiving is coming~! (^v^)
Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. On this day, we usually celebrate by eating a big Turkey feast with our families. A typical THanksgiving dinner usually includes one whole turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. We also eat pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, corn, etc. Usually, I always end up eating way too much. (-_-;) In Japan, is eating turkey common?

First Date!!

Hi! Today's class topic is First Date. I'm very interested and excited the class :-D Because it's big problem to make good impression. I wanna know how to make good impression! Now I don't have a boyfriend... :-<

In Japan, we often go to movie theater, zoo, cafe, aquarium, dinner and so on. Especially, i think movie theater is the best place to go as a first date! First picture is Nagoya Aquarium. It's big and there are many places to see, so we can enjoy for a long time.

The day before first date, do you worry about clothes, like 'Which clothes are the best for me?' I always worry. Some of Japanese girls wear cute style!! The second photo is that! Skirt, white and black, small bag... Maybe most of Japanese men like these style and I also think it's cute! How about America?What kind of clothes do you wear when you go to first date?

In Japan, usually go to movie, dinner, aquarium, zoo and so on. Especially I like go to movie. I like comedy, love comedy, love romance and action movies. Movie price is 1500円(＄１３) in Japan. It is little high price. But movie is very fan!!

こんにちは！！日本は今週から急に寒くなってきましたーアメリカはどうですか？？私は寒いのが苦手なので外に出たくないです…。
さてさて今回は私の好きな飲み物っていうテーマですが、私はスターバックスのコーヒーが大好きです学校の近くにスターバックスがあるので毎日飲んるよ☆★去年、ニューヨークに行ったときニューヨークには１００メートルおきくらいにスターバックスがあってびっくりしました。アメリカの人はコーヒーがだいすきなんですね♪♪みんなはコーヒー好きですか？？
あと私はアルバイトでカクテルを作っています。お酒の知識には少し自身があります！！えへ☆

飲み物飲み物～♪

アメリカは今寒くないですか？？日本（というより名古屋）は急に寒くなって朝晩は相当冷え込こんでいます（＞～＜）秋らしく紅葉がきれいだけどもうすぐ本格的に冬になりそうです…。

こないだの授業ではdrinkingについて学びました★アメリカでポピュラーな飲み物は日本でもポピュラーです（コカコーラとかスターバックスのコーヒーとかね）。でもあたしが知らないだけかもしれないので「知らなそう」と思ったら教えてくださいね。日本らしいもの…って考えるとやっぱりお茶（＾ー＾）ウーロン茶、緑茶、紅茶…いろいろあります。自動販売機で売られている飲み物の比率もお茶：コーヒー：ジュース＝１：１：１ぐらい。だいだい自販機１つにつき３～４種類です。

ちなみにあたしが好きな飲み物は紅茶（特にストレート）、ココア、緑茶です★３つともホットでもアイスでもおいしいです（●’0’●）お酒は２０歳越えて合法だから飲めるケド…カクテル２～３杯で酔いつぶれちゃうのであまり飲めないという…（；～；）

黄色い物体は日本でのお弁当には必ず！といっていいほど入っている卵焼きを（kamanを見習って）自力で作ってみました。…あたしは失敗。今度こそがんばります。

Today, I studied about drink. What is your favorite drink? My favorite drink is cocoa, milk tea, canada dry, coca cola, green tea, apple juice, pocari sweat and so on.

I heard, American do not like pocari sweat. Because sweat means perspiration. Do you dislike it, too? I often drink it when after sports. It is good for our health. So, I want to drink it!! Name is bad, however taste is goood!!!Please, try it!!!

Hi :-D Today I'll talk about body language. You know Japanese bow as a greeting. when people meet, when people leave, when clerk say to coming custonor, when we show thanks, and when people go to front of God...there are many times to use it. Have you ever know Japanesese do a peace sign when they take pictures? I didn't notice until Suzanne said :-< There are various opinions, but the most strongest reason is that a Japanese man did a peace sign in a photo commercial.

昨日はハロウィンだったね。日本人の私にはあまり関係なかったケド…(；～；)でも、アメリカ人の先生とスザンヌは"Trick or Treat!"って言ったらとってもおいしいチョコをくれたからハッピー♪♪(●＞ー＜●)　スザンヌの授業ではハロウィンにまつわる話やゲームをして、「ぁ、こんなかんじなのかな～」って少しだけ分かりました。来年は仮装してみたいなっ(￣+ー￣)

みんなはどんな衣装を着たことがある？あと、大学生になってもハロウィンの仮装して"Trick or Treat!"って言うの？

みなさんこんにちは♪今日は１０月２９日なのでもうすぐハロウィンですね☆！！

今日は授業でハロウィンについて勉強しました。しかし残念ながら日本には家族でハロウィンをお祝いしたりする風習はありません（：_；）町がハロウィンの飾り付けになっていたりすることはありますが、特に何か行事があるわけではありません（・△・；）「Ｔｒｉｃｋ　ｏｒ　Ｔｒｅａｔ」と言うとお菓子がもらえるなんてとてもうらやましい風習だと思います☆！！よかったらハロウィンについて、詳しく教えてください♪

その代わり日本ではお正月（happy new year）に「お年玉」といって、子供たちにお金をあげる風習があります。毎年子供たちはお年玉をとても楽しみにしています。アメリカにもそのような風習はありますか☆？

ハローウィンについて

アメリカのハローウィンは毎年の１０月３１日です。１０月中心になるとよく家の外と中でハローウィンの飾り物を飾ります。このごろになると店でよくかぼちゃが多く売っています。かぼちゃで鬼火を作るからです。私も今年かぼちゃ一つ買いました。まだ彫ってないが家に飾るだけでハローウィンの雰囲気がでます。ハローウィンは子供たちによく人気があります。変装して人の家の前で「Ｔｒｉｃｋ　ｏｒ　Ｔｒｅａｔ」と言い飴やお菓子が貰えるからです。子供たちはよく友達と一緒に行って誰が一番多くお菓子を貰えたのを家に戻って比べます。ハローウィンは大人でも子供でも楽しめます。

名前の意味ですね。(･_･?) 実は私はよくわかりませんが、説明してみます。私の名前は中国語の名前だから、漢字で書けます。『タイ』と言うのは戴くの『戴』なんです。カマンの『カ』と言うのは家族の『家』です。最後の『マン』は日本語で漢字がないだけど、中国語ではあります。でも、発音は『文』と同じです。

Origin of My Name

Hello!! Today I'll tell you about origin of my name.
You know, my name is Miharu Ota. When I write my name to use kanji, Miharu is 美春 and Ota is 太田. 美 means beautyful and 春 means spring. The day I was born was April, warm and the cherry blossoms were at their best. Therefore, my parents decided the name. 太 means thick and 田 means rice field. I don't know particularity, but maybe people hoped that rice thrived well. The origins are interesting, isn't it? I want you tell us origin of your name(@^@)♪♪

☆私の名前と大学祭について☆

みなさんこんにちは！！
私の名前はかおりです。漢字で書くと”香織”です。”香”は英語で sweet smellという意味で、”織”はtextileという意味です。この名前は私の母がつけてくれました。私の姉の名前は父がつけたそうです。もしよかったら、みなさんの名前にはどんな意味があるのか教えてください（・▽・）！！

Introduction about myself

Hello, my name is Annie Hao. I'm a second year student at Michigan State University. My major is Pre-Optometry and Physiology. I was born in China and when I was 9 years old I moved to Japan. I lived in Asahikawa in Hokkaido for about 3 years until I was 12. Then I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived there for 4 years. I moved to Michigan during my junior year in high school.

My favorite things about Japan is the food and the culture. I love the fresh sea food from Hokkaido and I love takoyaki, dango, miso ramen, and monjayaki. My favorite Japanese artists are Hamasaki Ayumi, Otsuka Ai, Matsuura Aya to name a few.

I plan to travel to Japan someday and I wish to be able to attend a Japanese University. I'm really excited to start blogging with you all and to able to get to know each other.

A little about myself

( ^_^)／ Hi everybody! My name is Kaman Tai and I'm a 4th year student at Michigan State University. My major is Elementary Education and I'm also minoring in Japanese and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). After I graduate from MSU, I plan to teach English in Japan or somewhere in East Asia.

I was born in Hong Kong and moved to New York City when I was 5 years old. After that, I moved to Michigan when I was 8. I can speak Chinese (Cantonese), but unfortunately, I can't read or write that many Kanji's.

My hobbies are eating, cooking, shopping, traveling, digital photography, painting, computer graphics, surfing the internet, and the list goes on...
My favorite artists are Hamasaki Ayumi, Amuro Namie, Koda Kumi, Nakashima Mika, Gackt, Mariah Carey, and many many more.
